Tax tables must be manually updated at the start of each financial year to keep payroll calculations accurate and compliant. The screenshots below walk you through exactly which fields to update.

Important: These updates are completed manually in Jobpac and need to be finished before your first payroll run of the new financial year. The screenshots below will guide you through each step.

Each screenshot below shows a Jobpac screen with fields you need to fill in manually. Use the screenshots as your guide: they show you exactly which fields to update and in what order.

Before you begin
- Visit the ATO Tax Tables page

Step 1: Update standard tax scales
1. Go to Payroll > Company Information > Tax Levels (see screenshot below)
2. Manually enter the numbers from Schedule 1 (NAT 1004) into the fields shown in the screenshot for Scales 1, 2, 3, and 5
3. Make sure you update:
- Withholding limits (use the numbers from the ATO file)
- Please note: Withholding % for Return to Work Payments = 32%
- Child support weekly amounts (from Schedule 1)

Step 2: Update additional tax rates
1. Update Scale 6 using Schedule 1 (NAT 1004)
2. Update Working Holiday Maker rates using Schedule 15
3. Open the Other Weekly Earnings tab to apply changes
Note: Leave SFSS tax tables blank. These are now included in HELP rates.
Step 3: Update HELP / STSL rates Please note: Screenshot has been updated with Simplified Rates
1. Go to Tax Levels and open the HELP Rates tab (see screenshot)
2. Manually enter the threshold amounts and percentages from Schedule 8 (NAT 3539) into each field shown in the screenshot
3. Click OK to save your changes once all fields are complete

Step 4: Update seniors rates
Seniors without Medicare (NAT 4466)
1. Go to Payroll > Company Information > Tax Levels
2. Select Seniors Rates without Medicare tab
3. Update the tax table using ATO schedule values
4. Click OK to save
Seniors with Medicare (NAT 4466)
1. Go to Payroll > Company Information > Tax Levels
2. Select Seniors Rates with Medicare tab
3. Update the tax table using ATO schedule values
4. Click OK to save changes
โ Completed when
- All tax scales are updated
- HELP/STSL rates have been applied
- Seniors rates are updated
- Effective date is correct
- All changes have been saved
