If an X7 scanner is not functioning properly, be sure the SD card has the correct ratings.
The SD card will need to be able to read and write data at a high speed for point cloud data collection.
One option, the SD Card that is sent with the X7, is an SDHC, 32GB, Class 10, UHS-I, U3 card - As seen below:
It will also accept an SDXC, 32GB-2TB, Class 10, UHS-I or II, U3 card.
To help with interpreting the label of the SD Card or its packaging;
Speed Class is represented by a number inside of a C e.g.
UHS Speed Class is represented by a number in a U e.g.
The UHS Bus Class is represented by a roman numeral e.g.
The SDUC, 2TB-128TB has not been tested on the X7 / X9.
The SDXC card requires a 3rd party app to format it to FAT32 as its default format is exFAT and will not format to FAT32 within Windows.
Here is a 3rd party app that can be used: http://ridgecrop.co.uk/guiformat.htm
There is also a link to this application at the bottom of this guide.
SD Cards are prone to corruption, so formatting can be a valid solution; if the SD card is the correct type, try re-formatting the SD card as FAT32, even if it has already been formatted as FAT32.
(Be sure to back-up any scans as formatting will wipe the SD card)
