Updating X7 Firmware

1. Firmware Compatibility

With the Trimble X7, it is important to ensure you are using the proper firmware for the version of FieldLink you are using on your tablet. The table below shows the firmware parings for optimal performance.

6.9 / 6.9.1 R2.5.100
6.8 R2.5.100
6.7 R2.5.100
6.6 R2.5.100

 

2. Firmware installation

To install Firmware onto the X7 you will need Trimble Installation Manager installed. 
If you don't already have this installed you can get it at: https://install.trimble.com/

  1. Open Trimble Installation Manager
  2. Click Optical  & Scanning
  3. Click X7

  4. Select which Firmware you would like to install from the drop down in the top right. 
  5. Connect your X7 to the tablet or PC via Cable and ensure both tablet/PC and X7 have >50% battery remaining. 
  6. Click Install

Note: The blue Download icon text to the firmware version will save the .exe file to be used offline if needed.
