The landscape of Australian payroll is shifting. As you may have heard, the Australian Government is introducing Payday Super legislation. Starting 1 July 2026, employers will be required to pay Superannuation Guarantee (SG) contributions on the same day they pay salary and wages.
For payroll professionals, this is a reform that moves us away from the traditional quarterly cycle to a real-time environment.
What’s Changing in Vista?
As part of this reform, payroll software must be capable of capturing and reporting QE (Qualifying Earnings) in every Single Touch Payroll (STP) submission.
- The Deadline: Payroll software must be compliant with STP QE submissions by 30 June 2026, ready for FY27 STP Reporting.
- The Transition Period: While the legislative deadline for software providers is mid-2026, Vista customers will have one further year (until 30 June 2027) to configure, and verify that QE submissions are 100% accurate, according to the ATO.
- ATO Certification: Vista’s upcoming 2026.6 release has been certified by the ATO for Payday super reporting,
Training & Enablement
A full transition guide will be published guiding users in their move to Payday super, as well as a webinar with the Trimble Product & Engineering team including a Q&A session. Keep an eye on your inbox for an invite.
Key Dates
- 15th May – Customers will receive notification from Trimble advising the date their Vista environment will be upgraded.

Streamlining Payments with SAFF & OZEDI
Upon release of the 2026.6 update, Vista will also support SAFF (SuperStream Alternative File Format) for streamlined upload to Super clearing houses
What is a SAFF file? It is a specifically formatted CSV file used to report and pay super contributions in compliance with SuperStream standards. It acts as a secure intermediary file that you upload to your clearing house.
A New Solution: OZEDI Instant Super
We are working closely with OZEDI, our trusted STP Sending Service and PEPPOL gateway provider, to offer an even more robust solution.
Did you know that OZEDI has launched an Instant Super Clearing House facility specifically designed for the Payday Super era?
Why consider OZEDI?
- Easy Integration: You will be able to integrate using the Vista SAFF file output.
- Instant Confirmation: You will receive instant confirmation and updates at every step of the process, including when the fund receives the payment.
- Security: Data is encrypted from creation to completion, and then it is deleted at OZEDI.
- Future-Proofing: We are currently investigating deeper API integrations with OZEDI, including the Fund Validation Service (FVS) and the Membership Verification Request (MVR).
Important Note: The Closure of SBSCH
If you are a small business currently using the ATO’s Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH), please be aware that it will be permanently closed on 1 July 2026.
The SBSCH will not support the high-frequency requirements of Payday Super. We recommend that all SBSCH users begin investigating an alternative clearing house (like the OZEDI facility mentioned above) prior to the end of the 2025/26 financial year to avoid any disruption in payments.
