Sales invoices not showing in BAS reports as GST collected

Why AR invoices hit the general ledger but don't appear as GST collected on the BAS.

Overview

If sales (AR) invoices post to the general ledger but their GST doesn't appear as GST collected on the BAS, the invoice's tax code is most likely not included in the BAS code definition. Check the tax code on the invoice, then confirm it is mapped in the matching BAS code.

Check and resolve

1. Check the tax code on the AR invoice at Finance > Accounts Receivable > Progress Claims/Invoices.

2. Open the BAS code definition at Finance > General Ledger > GST Administration > Set BAS Codes. Right-click the relevant BAS code and select BAS Code Detail.

BAS Code Maintenance with the right-click BAS Code Detail option

3. If the BAS code definition doesn't include the invoice's tax code, add it against the relevant transaction types (e.g. AR INV, AR CRD, AR ADJ).

Tip: The tax code must be mapped for each transaction type it applies to — a code mapped for AR INV but not AR CRD will leave credit notes off the BAS.
