Troubleshooting - RTS icon not visible in FieldLink
This troubleshooting guide is a workaround for when you are unable to see any RTS icon when attempting to connect to your RTS series instrument, the cause for this missing icon could be putting the tablet in airplane mode, leaving the tablet in sleep mode for extended periods, or some windows updates.
Before starting the below - Please confirm the 2 small screws on the back of the radio module are tight enough that there is no loose movement between radio and tablet contacts.
The below steps will resolve the issue in most cases;
- Check your Windows settings for any pending or in progress updates and complete all updates before fully restarting your tablet via the windows start menu.
- Use the Windows Start Menu to search for or navigate to EMPOWER Hub, open this software and see if you now have EM120 with a green tick showing on one of the 2 available slots.
If you see EM120 here per below image, it’s very likely your issue is fixed – open FieldLink to confirm.
- If both slots show as ‘No hardware detected’ then we need to download a copy of the Radio Registry files to the tablet via the following link: RadioMgrInstaller
- Extract all files in the downloaded .ZIP archive, you should then see 4 files.
- Select and Run “InstllRadioMgr.cmd”
- Say “Yes” to allow the program to run
a) You may be prompted for administrator access if the user that is currently logged in to the tablet does not have administrator privileges. - Next run EM120Reset.exe which is attached to this guide.
- Once EM120Reset.exe has completed, use the Windows Start Menu to restart your tablet.
- Check Empower Hub to confirm resolved, if this hasn't fixed your missing radio module please contact your local BuildingPoint Australia representative or call 1800 900 272.
