Updating NZ Tax Rates in Jobpac for FY 2026/2027

This article explains how to update New Zealand tax rates and thresholds in Jobpac for the 2026/2027 financial year. It is designed for payroll and finance users responsible for maintaining payroll compliance.
 
It is your responsibility to review and maintain these settings in Jobpac.
 

 

NZ tax change settings for FY 2026/2027 Summary

  • No change to Actual Tax rates or Annual Thresholds
  • ACC levy rate increasing to 1.75% with an increased earnings threshold of $156,641, maximum $2,741.22
  • Student Loan threshold and rate remain the same
  • Minimum KiwiSaver Employer & Employee Contribution rates have increased from 3% to 3.5%
  • ESCT rates and thresholds have not changed
 

 

How to update tax tables in Jobpac

All tax rate updates are completed through the Tax Levels menu.
 
ACC Levy Rate Changes
 
1. Go to Payroll > Company Information > Tax Levels.
2. Update the ACC Levy rate, Maximum Earnings threshold & Maximum Levy amounts as per screenshot below
3. Update the impact of the increase of ACC levy on the highlight Rates as per below
 
 
4. Click OK to Save Changes
 
 

Review Employee Kiwisaver Employer & Employee Contributions

After updating tax tables, you will likely need to make changes to the Kiwisaver Employer & Employee contributions. 
 
Update at Individual Employee Level:
 
1. Payroll > Employee Information > Select Employee > Actions > Allowances & Deductions

 

 
Update all employees via Download, amend and Upload
 
2. Payroll > Employee Information > Allowances/Deductions > Download

 

3. Open up excel download and filter by Kiwisaver Employer and Employee deductions, make changes to any deductions required

4. Save File

5. Upload File via Payroll > Employee Information > Allowances/Deductions > Upload

 

NOTE: Care should always be taken when doing bulk changes with these uploads and recommend trying in the test environments before taking into Live. 

 
Update the Default Rate on the Transaction Code for Kiwisaver Employer & Employee
 
1. Payroll > Company Information > Search for Kiwisaver Contribution Codes
2. Actions > Modify to edit details
 
 
3. Update the rate for KSE -  KiwiSaver Employee Contribution to -3.5 
4. Repeat for the KiwiSaver Employer transaction code, however this value will be a positive 3.5
