How to Schedule End of Month Processing

This article explains how to schedule End of Month (EOM) processing in Jobpac. Scheduling EOM allows you to roll multiple modules for one or more WorkIDs at a defined date and time, helping you manage month‑end processing more efficiently.
This process is commonly used by finance users who manage period end processing across multiple companies.

Before you start

The Scheduled End of Month function uses FROM and TO period parameters to help prevent a module being rolled more than once in the same run. However, it does not prevent a user from manually rolling the module again on a later day.

Note: Payroll End of Financial Year must be rolled separately via Payroll > Period End. It is not included in Scheduled End of Month.

Steps to schedule End of Month

1. Go to Finance > Period End Processing > Scheduled End of Month.
2. A list of available WorkIDs will display. Right‑click and select the WorkID you want to process.
3. The selected WorkID text will turn blue. Click the Actions button and select Select EOMs from the drop‑down menu.
4. Update the highlighted fields to schedule the End of Month:
  • Tick each module you want to run
  • Ensure the Reports option is set to *ALL or *NO as required
  • Set the Scheduled Date and Time

NOTE:
  • Select *ALL to run EOM reports for that entity and have them emailed on completion.
  • Select *NO if you plan to run reports separately.
  • The time field must be entered in HHMMSS 24‑hour format (for example, 10:00 pm is 220000).
  • The system defaults the scheduled time to approximately 10–15 minutes from the current time.

5. Click the Actions button and select Process EOMs.
6. A confirmation message will display advising that the End of Month has been submitted based on the schedule you defined. Click OK.

Recommended Module Roll Sequence

For accurate period control and consistent posting across the system, the following modules should be rolled together at month end:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Job Costing
  • General Ledger

Rolling these modules at the same time ensures all subledgers remain aligned with the General Ledger and prevents transactions from being posted into closed periods and causing imbalances.

Fixed Assets

If your organization uses plant timesheets, the Fixed Assets module should be rolled before or at the same time as the modules listed above. This ensures all plant‑related costs and depreciation entries post into the correct period. If the module is used entirely for fixed asset register and depreciation, this can be rolled at a later point in time.

Payroll

The payroll module can be rolled independently. The timing depends on when payroll costs should be recognised in the General Ledger. You may roll payroll earlier or later than other modules as long as payroll journals are posted to the correct GL period.
