Mandatory Action Required: Notification of Software ID (SSID) to the ATO

⚠️ Action required before 11 June

If you haven't notified the ATO of your SSID before the evening of Thursday 11 June, your STP submissions will be rejected. Please complete this immediately.

What's changing

As part of an ATO security uplift, all businesses submitting Single Touch Payroll (STP) data must register a Software ID (SSID) against each ABN used for STP.

The ATO deadline is 30 June, but your Sending Service Provider (SSP) may be activating SSID processing earlier. We recommend completing this now to avoid any disruption.

What is an SSID?

Your SSID is a unique identifier assigned by your Sending Service Provider (SSP) to each of your active ABNs. Registering it with the ATO confirms that Jobpac is authorised to prepare STP reports on your behalf, and that your SSP is authorised to transmit them.

You must complete this for each ABN you use to lodge STP data.

Two steps to complete

1

Retrieve your SSID

Log in to your Sending Service Provider's dashboard and locate your unique SSID for each ABN. If you use OZEDI, your SSID is available under the Help tab in your OZEDI STP Dashboard — refer to their SSID retrieval guide for step-by-step instructions.

2

Register your SSID with the ATO

An authorised representative must notify the ATO and provide your ABN, your SSP name, and your SSID.

Option 1 — Online

Option 2 — Phone
