Enabling approval workflow for location invoices

Turn on sequential approval workflow for invoices related to a location.

Overview

To route location-related invoices through an approval workflow, confirm the approval parameters and rules are set, then select the workflow when the batch is submitted for approval.

Enable the workflow

1. Check the advanced approval parameter APPINV β€” turn on position 2 only, as this is for location.

2. Check parameter WRKFLW is enabled for Invoice (position 2 = Y, "Auto Set Invoice Approval").

3. Check the approval rules related to the GL account.

4. Go to Menu > System Admin > Configure Modules > Procurement Approvals, right-click Invoice rules and select Details. Set Number of approvers (e.g. 2), or select a range table as required, and set the process to Sequential.

Apply the workflow at submission

After batching the invoice, when you send it for approval a Select Approval Workflow option is enabled.

Select it and choose the workflow. The approvers are applied in the workflow's sequence.

Tip: The approval sequence can still be changed after the workflow is applied.

Once the invoice is submitted, a confirmation dialogue appears.

Note: Approvers receive an email as the approval progresses β€” for example, once the first approver has approved.
