Finalizing your STP Submissions at end of Fiscal Year and Tax Ready Status on myGov
When to use Fix YTD Final, and what happens after you submit it.
Overview
At the end of each financial year, the ATO requires a 'Final' Fix YTD submission through Single Touch Payroll.
Where: Run PR STP Process → Fix YTD - Final
1 – Know the deadline
The Final Fix YTD submission is typically due by 14 July. You can start processing payroll for the new financial year before submitting it. The Tax Year field keeps the two years separate, so pay events for the new year (for example 2027) don't get mixed up with the Update Event submission for the previous year (2026).
2 – Terminated employees
You can also use Fix YTD Final for individual terminated employees during the year (not required). If they're rehired later, submit normal Pay Events for their new wages and use Final again if they're terminated a second time or at year end.
3 – Watch for the myGov status change
After the Final submission, myGov status changes from Tax not ready to Tax Ready, usually overnight at the soonest.
Tip: Message Type options on the Ozedi portal
When using STP Phase 2 in Vista, Ozedi has added 2 options to the Message Type drop-down on their upload page, bringing it from two options to four.
The options referencing Version 3 are for STP Phase 1 E-files only.
The options referencing Version 4 are for STP Phase 2 E-files only: use PAYEVNT for Pay Event and Full File Replacement submissions, and UPDATE for Fix YTD submissions.
